Being a conscientious groom, I have studied carefully to determine my responsibilities prior to the wedding. I have determined that they boil down to a very few things.
- Buy ring
- Propose
- Supply addresses for invitations
- Make sufficient friends to supply groomsmen
- Get measured for Tuxedo
- Pick up said Tuxedo on the appropriate day
- Sign checks
- Plan h0neymoon
- Get marriage license
- Show up for the rehearsal and wedding (on time!)
- Sign marriage license
Notice that nowhere in that list is “Pick out Tuxedo” or “Help address invitations”, or even (God forbid!) “Help pick out wedding dress”. If I stick to this list, my Bride will be happy, which will make me happy too. A man has to know his limitations
